On Tuesday, May 24, 2011, all five members were in Los Angeles to answer questions about the upcoming ‘Epitaph U.S Tour’ and to formally introduce new guitarist Richie Faulkner (Who will be taking the place of KK Downing) It was recently announced that the upcoming ‘Epitaph Tour’ will be the last one from these heavy metal greats, and the band set the record straight as to what to expect from Judas Priest in the coming months.

Judas Priest is one of heavy metal’s royalty and few bands have managed to scale the heights that Judas Priest has during their nearly 40-year career. Celebrated for not only issuing some of metal’s all-time classic albums (‘British Steel,’ ‘Screaming for Vengeance,’ ‘Painkiller,’ etc.) and anthems (“Breaking the Law,” “Living After Midnight,” “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming,” etc.), the group has also been one of the leading rock acts for decades selling out venues and known for single-handedly introduced the “leather look” to heavy metal.

The Band answered questions from the media and spoke of recent rehearsals to prepare for a soon to begin 18 month world tour which kicks off June 7th in Holland, with the first leg of their confirmed North American dates starting October 12th in San Antonio and running through Nov 18th in East Rutherford, N.J. with other dates to follow. (See below)

Glen Tipton did point out that this does not mark the end of Judas Priest, but rather just the fact that they will no longer be doing any more world tours, and if an great opportunity would arise to do a small amount of dates they would not say no. The Band also wanted to use this opportunity to Introduce Richie Faulkner who will replace replaces recently retired KK Downing, Faulkner spoke of having discovered Judas Priest at age 14 via the Painkiller CD and having played some Priest songs with his previous bands. Glen Tipton was quick to point out that Faulkner is a good fit for the band and even spoke of having auditioned other a few other guitarists until Faulkner was recommended to them.

The Band also answered one of the most eagerly awaited questions and talked about some new material which they have been working on and hope to have out by next summer, so stayed tuned for more information…..
